Dear Friends of Crossroads,

Summer is here, and at The Crossroads Foundation, we have so much to celebrate and even more to look forward to.

On July 1, we proudly opened the doors of Maria’s House, a beautiful historic home that will provide women in recovery with a safe, supportive place to continue building healthy and independent lives. What was once simply a vision has become a reality through the generosity of our community, dedicated supporters, and partners who believe every woman deserves a place of hope and healing.

Maria’s House is named in honor of Maria Costello, whose extraordinary legacy continues to inspire The Crossroads Foundation and the recovery community throughout San Diego. By the time she retired as Executive Director of Crossroads, Maria had devoted 30 years to supporting women on their journeys of recovery from drugs and alcohol. She believed deeply in the power of hope, compassion, and second chances, and she touched countless lives through her unwavering commitment to helping women heal and rebuild their futures. It is our privilege to honor her memory by opening a home that embodies the values she championed and provides women with the safety, dignity, and support they need to thrive.

We are deeply grateful to the many donors, community partners, and friends whose generosity has helped make this dream a reality. Their support and belief in our mission are transforming a historic house into a true home where women can find safety, healing, and hope.

June also brought one of our favorite traditions, our 2nd Annual Crossroads Day at the Bay at beautiful Mission Bay. Residents, alumni, families, staff, and friends gathered for an afternoon filled with laughter, connection, and community. It was a wonderful reminder that recovery extends far beyond our walls and that healing is strengthened through friendship, support, and shared experiences.

As we celebrate these milestones, we are also looking ahead to another special event.

Our annual gala is always an evening of inspiration, music, and community as we come together to support the women of Crossroads. More details, sponsorship opportunities, and ticket information will be coming soon, but for now, please mark your calendars. We would love to celebrate with you.

Finally, as our community grows, so do our needs. With both our original residence and Maria’s House now serving women in recovery, we have twice the opportunity to change lives and twice the responsibility to ensure our homes remain places of comfort, dignity, and hope.

Your support makes all of this possible.

Whether through a donation, volunteering, attending an event, or simply sharing our mission with others, you are helping women rebuild their lives one day at a time. As we begin this exciting new chapter, we invite you to continue walking alongside us as we support not one, but two homes dedicated to recovery, healing, and hope.

Thank you for standing beside The Crossroads Foundation as we approach 70 years of serving women in recovery. We cannot wait to share this summer of new beginnings with you. With gratitude,

Lindsey Purdie
Executive Director
