Dear Friends of Crossroads,

April is Alcohol Awareness Month, a time to recognize the impact of alcohol use disorder and to reaffirm the importance of accessible, supportive pathways to recovery. At Crossroads, we see every day that recovery is not achieved in isolation. It is built through structure, community, and the consistent support of others who understand the journey.

For women, the path to recovery is often shaped by unique experiences, including caregiving responsibilities, trauma, and barriers to treatment. At Crossroads, we provide a safe and structured environment where women can focus on healing, develop life skills, and build a foundation for long-term stability. Through connection and accountability, women begin to rebuild their lives with strength and purpose.

Last month, members of our community participated in the 12th Annual Women Sponsoring Women Workshop, hosted by the South Bay Pioneers in Chula Vista. This meaningful gathering brought together women in recovery who are sponsoring, seeking sponsorship, or exploring what it means to support another woman on her recovery journey. We are grateful to the South Bay Pioneers for hosting this important event and for their ongoing commitment to strengthening the recovery community.

Moments like these reflect what we know to be true: recovery is sustained through relationships, shared experience, and the willingness to show up for one another. At Crossroads, this spirit of women supporting women continues every day within our program and throughout our extended community.

As we recognize Alcohol Awareness Month, we invite you to support the women of Crossroads. Your generosity helps provide safe housing, structured care, and the supportive environment that makes recovery possible. Together, we are ensuring that women have the opportunity to heal, grow, and move forward with dignity and hope.

With gratitude,
Lindsey Purdie
Executive Director
