Dear Friends of Crossroads,

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, a time to recognize the importance of emotional well-being and the critical connection between mental health and substance use recovery.

At Crossroads, we see every day how deeply these journeys are intertwined. The women who come through our doors are not only seeking recovery from substance use, but also healing from trauma, anxiety, depression, and the lasting effects of unsafe or unstable environments. Recovery is not simply about abstinence. It is about restoring a sense of safety, dignity, and hope.

For nearly seventy years, Crossroads has provided a place where healing can begin.

Today, we are preparing for an important next step.

Maria’s House will expand our ability to provide safe, supportive housing for women in recovery. As we prepare this new home for future residents, we are focused on creating a space that reflects the care and dignity every woman deserves.

If you are able, we invite you to give a gift today in support of Maria’s House. Your generosity will directly impact the women who will walk through these doors in the months ahead.

Our work is strengthened by the community around us. In April, members of the Crossroads team were honored to attend the Pink Gala in support of Stepping Stone of San Diego. It was a meaningful evening that highlighted the power of connection across organizations working toward recovery and healing.

At Crossroads, we remain committed to being a steady presence for the women we serve and for our broader recovery community. This month reminds us that healing is always possible—and that it is made stronger through compassion, support, and shared purpose.

Thank you for standing with us, and for helping us bring Maria’s House to life.

With gratitude,
Lindsey Purdie
Executive Director
The Crossroads Foundation
