Dear Friends of Crossroads,

Let’s take a breath of fresh air together!

Crossroads is thrilled to invite you to our first-ever A Day at the Bay, a family-friendly gathering on Saturday, June 29 at beautiful De Anza Cove in Mission Bay. This isn’t just a day at the beach — it’s a chance to celebrate recovery, build connections, and experience the restorative power of nature. Studies show that time outdoors can boost mental health, reduce stress, and improve overall well-being — all vital ingredients in the recovery process.

Bring a friend, your family, or come solo and meet new friends. Enjoy a BBQ lunch, lawn games, music, and a reflective walk around the bay as we honor strength, healing, and second chances.

A Day at the Bay - June 29 at De Anza Cove | Crossroads Foundation

May is Mental Health Awareness Month – a time to reflect, to educate, and to act.

At the Crossroads Foundation, we know that mental health and addiction are deeply connected, especially for women who have faced trauma, poverty, and systemic barriers to care. In fact, according to the National Institute on Drug Abuse, more than 60% of women seeking substance use treatment also have co-occurring mental health disorders such as depression, anxiety, or PTSD. These aren’t just statistics. They are our sisters, daughters, mothers, friends, and neighbors.

Substance use disorder (SUD) doesn’t discriminate. Nearly every family in San Diego has been touched by it in some way. Whether it’s a loved one struggling in silence or someone bravely seeking treatment, the need for compassionate, holistic, and trauma-informed recovery is urgent — and growing. At Crossroads, we do more than provide a bed and a hot meal. We offer a sanctuary. A place where women can heal from trauma, stabilize their mental health, reconnect with their children, and rebuild their lives. But we can’t do it alone.

It takes a village — and in our case, a city.

We rely on the support of our San Diego community, including elected officials, business leaders, donors, and caring neighbors like you. Your voice, your support, and your advocacy help us keep our doors open to the women who need us most.

Here’s how you can help this May:

  • Spread the word: Tell a friend, share our story, invite someone to tour Crossroads.
  • Invite an official: Help us reach local leaders who can see the power of recovery up close.
  • Donate: Even a small monthly gift provides housing, therapy, and hope.

Together, we can ensure that no woman has to walk the road to recovery alone.

Save the Date: Pasta & Jazz 2025!

Mark your calendars for an unforgettable evening! Our annual gala, Pasta & Jazz 2025, will take place on Friday, September 19, 2025, at the Marriott Liberty Station in San Diego. Join us at 5:30 PM for an evening of delicious food, live jazz, and a shared commitment to making a difference in our community. This is Crossroads’ biggest fundraiser of the year, and we can’t wait to celebrate with you!

Thank you for being part of the Crossroads family.

With gratitude,

Lindsey Purdie
